Fall at Walt Disney World is magical. Mickey pumpkins, changing leaves, and fall colors are everywhere. Much like New Orleans, Disney World is hit or miss on cooler weather in early fall. This doesn’t stop Walt Disney World from creating the fall background you long for! There are also special shows, parties and tons of fun during fall at Walt Disney World.
Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party (MNSSHP) takes place in the fall starting in September. You must purchase a special event ticket to attend this event. I This special event is only at the Magic Kingdom on certain days. The event officially starts at 7pm. Upon entering the Magic Kingdom you will receive a bracelet, like the all you can ride kind from fairs, that lets the cast members know you are part of the special event.
What is so special about MNSSHP? There is a special parade that begins with the ride of the headless horseman! There is also a special firework show lighting up the skies over the Magic Kingdom. Special characters, dance parties, trick or treating, and more make this event a must do. This is the only event where adults can come dressed up in costume at the park, so be sure to take advantage of that.
Don’t want to go to MNSSHP? There are special firework viewing areas around the resort. The beaches at Fort Wilderness, the Grand Floridian and the Polynesian Resorts are some of the best firework viewing spots in Walt Disney World Resort. Also, California Grill at the Contemporary Resort is another great spot, but you will need an ADR for here.
Epcot International Food and Wine Festival begins in late September. You can experience some different foods and wine around Epcot. Be on the lookout while there for special guests and performances. This is the festival for foodies that love Disney.
Who says Disney isn’t for adults? Certainly not Disney World with its newest addition, Club Villain. Club Villain is only for guests 21 years and older. This fairly new attraction is only available on select dates in starting in September through the end of October. Guest can visit Hollywood Studios and then join the event. Who is there? You guessed it, some of your favorite villains! Not only do you get to meet these idols (Lol) and dance around, you also get to have a scrumptious New Orleans style banquet. If all that wasn’t enough, you can also get some special adult drink concoctions that aren’t otherwise avaliable! You’ll have to have admission to the park as well as special event admission.
If you are looking to try a variety of half marathons around the nation, I’d suggest to make one sponsored by Disney on your list. You are in luck because there just so happens to be one that takes place on the first weekend in November. These races are really special too, as you are usually running through the parks before opening. You not only get to check off a half marathon, but you also get a behind the scenes look at the parks as you are racing. This event requires advanced registration.
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party (MVMCP) is the last special event I’d like to talk about. I know what you’re thinking. What does Christmas have to do with the fall? In Disney it means the start of MCMCP. Just as MNSSHP takes place on select dates in September and October, this special event takes place on special dates throughout November and December. You will also need to purchase tickets in advance. This event also has a special parade and fireworks display. Just as you can get candy form MNSSHP, you get to have hot coco and cookies at this event.
