One of the most magical times to visit Walt Disney World is during the fall months. While the weather can still be hot and muggy, the decorations will have you thinking about sweaters and pumpkin spice everything. Mickey pumpkins, fall leaves, and other fall decor magically transform Disney World into a fall wonderland. Here are five reasons to visit Walt Disney World in the fall.
Epcot Food and Wine Festival
Eat and drink around the world at the Epcot Food and Wine Festival. This yearly festival is one of the highlights of the year at Epcot. There will be over 30 food and beverage locations all over Epcot allowing you to sample food and beverages all over the world from August 29, 2019 through November 23, 2019. The Epcot Food and Wine Festival is included with your park admission however some events may have an additional fee and/or need advanced reservations. Not to be missed in 2019 are:

Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party
MNSSHP, as it's called, is the MUST do event of the fall at Walt Disney World. Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party is a special ticketed event that happens on select nights from August 16, 2019 through November 1, 2019 at the Magic Kingdom. Prices start at $79 per person. Advanced ticket purchases are recommended.
The castle stage show at Cinderella Castle called Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular will be returning this year. In addition to the stage show there will be trick or treating around the park, special character meet and greets, and Mickey's Boo To You Parade featuring the Headless Horseman and special attraction experiences at Pirates of the Caribbean, The Mad Tea Party and Space Mountain. Ending the night will be an all new Halloween Firework show that will take you on an adventure with Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Goofy as they find themselves drawn to a haunted house in this new not so scary story about how anything can happen on Halloween night.
Star Wars Galaxy's Edge
We've all been waiting for it and it's finally happening this fall! The opening of Star Wars Galaxy's Edge aka Star Wars Land is happening! The first phase is set to open on August 29, 2019 with the second phase and ride following on December 5, 2019 in Disney's Hollywood Studios. Take an adventure into the planet of Batuu, a far-flung planet populated by scoundrels and adventurers. Ride Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, drink some blue milk, create your own light saber and more.
Epcot Forever
Sadly we have to say goodbye to Illuminations: Reflections of Earth this fall at Epcot. The last night to see Illuminations will be September 30, 2019. An all new show will be taking it's place on October 1,2019. Epcot Forever will be a celebration of the past, present and future of Epcot. The show will feature fireworks, lasers and choreographed special-effect kits built around a magical soundtrack that celebrates Epcot.
Disney Skyliner
Do you remember the gondolas that took you across the Magic Kingdom? They were one of my favorite rides. Well they're back! Well kind of…
Disney's Skyliner is a new state-of-the-art gondola system that will take you around the Walt Disney World Resort in custom cabins adorned with graphics based on Disney films, attractions and characters. The gondolas will connect Disney's Hollywood Studios and Epcot with Disney's Art of Animation Resort, Disney's Pop Century Resort, Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort and Disney's all new Rivera Resort (opening mid-December).
I don't know about you but I can't wait to ride and get a birds eye view of Walt Disney World started September 29, 2019.
Now go grab your PSL from Starbucks and enjoy the fall magic in the happiest place on earth!
