Get kids of all ages excited about reading with these free local events! These events are in addition to the normal story times each library offers. Check your local library for the weekly story time events. The events listed take place all over New Orleans this October and there are many different activities for all ages.

Reading to Thor 

Cita Dennis Hubbell Library from 4-5 pm. All ages welcome. Thor, a licensed therapy dog, provides a patient and receptive audience for kids to practice reading aloud.

Charlie Brown Halloween Book Challenge

 Westwego Library. Ages 0-12. Each child will receive a bookmark to record the number of books checked out during the month. All bookmarks must be turned in on Oct. 30th. 1st place prize is a pillow. 2nd place prize is a diorama. All bookmarks turned in will receive a small prize.

Crescent City Reading Buddies Book Club

Old Metairie Library from 4-5 pm. Ages 4-9. Yoga and movement for parents and their kids. The focus is not on perfecting yoga poses, but on the experience of reading and being active together. Please bring your own mat.
