The Academy of the Sacred Heart is New Orleans' only Catholic, independent school for girls from age 1 through grade 12.
Founded in 1867 and affectionately known as the Rosary, the school has a long history rooted in the spiritual charism of the Society of the Sacred Heart, whose mission is “to discover and make known the love of God through the heart of Jesus.”
This purpose is carried out across the global Sacred Heart network in more than 150 schools in 41 countries. In the pursuit of their shared mission, all Sacred Heart schools are united by the Goals and Criteria of a Sacred Heart education and a rich legacy of educating girls to change the world.
Faith. Academics. Service. Community. Growth. The 5 Goals of Sacred Heart have been the cornerstone of our educational foundation from the day we first opened our doors in 1867.

Ashley Zito, Director of Admission
“…The term “school” seems almost a disservice to describe this amazing institution. My daughter is learning and growing academically, socially, and spiritually every day in the most rewarding and fulfilling way. Sacred Heart is truly providing her the foundation, structure, guidance, and education that Christian and I were hoping for. As such, she will have all of the tools she needs to become the best version of herself with a strong faith in and love for God…” – Kimberly Speed Rooney, parent of Kindergarten student

Ursuline believes girls must learn to think creatively, articulate their ideas confidently and compassionately, and solve problems collaboratively to succeed in tomorrow's world. Ursuline Academy develops tomorrow’s brightest independent thinkers, innovators, and community builders. From the first female law professor at Loyola University New Orleans to a U.S. senator and a U.S. Army colonel, Ursuline women lead fearlessly. At Ursuline, girls find the confidence to challenge themselves beyond academics and explore who they want to be.
Ursuline’s Reggio Emilia-inspired approach builds each girl’s confidence, social-emotional resiliency, and appreciation of others starting in early childhood. Throughout the academy, Ursuline’s all-girls’ environment empowers girls to challenge themselves, explore outside their comfort zones and expand what they are capable of achieving.

Atonement Lutheran School was founded in 1960 with one objective in mind: “To Impact Lives Through Christ” by providing an excellent Christian education and loving environment to families in the metro New Orleans area.
Atonement is a place where families can grow together in all facets of life. We are small enough to give each child and family the attention they deserve but have the faculty, staff, and facilities to provide an excellent education and school life experience. From the littlest threes on their first days of school to the eighth graders working toward graduation, Atonement is a place where the teachers, faculty, and staff are committed to working for the good of every student. We are passionate about giving students and families personalized attention and care while maintaining a superb educational climate and creating memorable experiences for all. We continue to hear feedback from area high schools, saying that our students are amongst the most – if not the best – prepared in their student populations.
We also offer our children our children many opportunities to be involved in extra-curricular activities,,, including a year-round sports program, scouting, talent shows, and a robust music program withwith several choirs across grade levels and produces an impressive spring musical every year.
‘I felt my children really benefitted from attending ALS as 8th graders. They matured and had so much fun during their last year with all the special events for 8th graders only. They were well prepared for High School and made the transition smoothly' — KL
