Celebrate New Year’s Eve In New Orleans With Kids

New Years Even New Orleans

It's almost time to ring in the New Year! Can you believe 2022 is almost here already? Crazy, right… Whether you are looking to go out, party at home, or both, we've got you covered. Here are some of OUR FAVORITE plans you can enjoy having an awesome New Orleans New Year's Eve with kids!

This post is sponsored by Rapid Urgent Care.

Countdown to NOON

Start the “New Year” off with a cheer at the Louisiana Children's Museum complete with confetti, bubbles, DIY crafts, and more. The cost is $10 for LCM Members and $20 for non-members

Children’s Museum of St. Tammany is also counting down the Near Year at noon with a balloon drop, brunch, face painting, and more. The cost is $25 per person.

You can also head to Hammond to the Children’s Discovery Center to countdown the New Year at noon with confetti, a bubble wrap stomp, and a special arts and crafts activity. Regular admission and hours.

If you feel like taking a road trip to Gulfport, be sure to stop at Lynn Meadow's Discovery Center for their Noon Year's Eve Bash! The museum is open from 10 am until 5 pm and all activities such as a ball drop at noon, crafts, snacks, confetti, and music are included with museum admission.

Go to a Parade

The Allstate Sugar Bowl New Year's Even Parade will be rolling through the French Quarter starting at 3 pm.

Enjoy a Bonfire and Fireworks

True Life Church is hosting a New Year's Even bonfire and fireworks for families. The bonfire starts at 6 pm and the fireworks will be at 8 pm. Be sure to bring your chair or blanket to enjoy the fun.

Jump into the New Year

Defy New Orleans is open from 9 am – 3 pm and SkyZone Metairie is open from 9 am to 9 pm.

Play Laser Tag

Adventure Quest will be open from 4-11 pm.

Go Bowling

AMF Bowling in Kenner is open from noon – 1 am with special packages to ring in the New Year

Catch a Movie:

Catch a movie with the family at one of our many local cinemas. Buy your tickets before you leave the house on Fandango .

Home Sweet Home

Don't want to venture out? Awesome, FUN is what you bring with you! Make it a night to remember with a themed event in your PJ's or play dress up. Create your own time frame by using on-demand countdowns with favorite characters or with different time zones.

Try a “mocktail” party with DIY tiaras, party hats, confetti eggs, noisemakers, and photobooth. Top it off with a make-your-own dessert bar and a specialty “mocktail” for toasting, and don't forget the tunes.

Have a Camp-in…Build a Fort, reminisce about the year by flashlight, make s' mores, create a touch & feel box.

Make it a Movie Night!!! Christmas movies to prolong the holiday spirit, maybe?

Make a Time Capsule

No New Year's Eve is complete without a TIME CAPSULE! Collect memorabilia and special items from the year, take photos, write down some resolutions, throw in some “what I am thankful for” notes, seal them up in a container of your choosing (I like mason jars), and decorate. Now you truly have a night to remember. Happy New Year!
