Mardi Gras is about 40 days away and we’re busy getting into the spirit! Preschoolers like to get into the carnival spirit too. We have two Mardi Gras Preschool Activities, a sensory bin idea and a Mardi Gras Preschool Printable for you to download! For older kids we have our Mardi Gras Parade Activities Pack. Mardi Gras Sensory Bin

Everything in the Mardi Gras sensory bin can be found at Walmart, Party City or the Dollar Tree and of course everything is purple, green and gold.

In our  sensory bin:

  5. I think this is a cute creaft idea for people who celebrate Mardi Gras. It is also an idea that can be adapted to be used for other holidsys and events as well.

  6. This is a great idea. I have two full bins of Mardi Gras decorations and accessories from Girl Scouts 13+ years ago. My mom kept EVERYTHING in hopes that one day we would need it again. My daughter would even love to use everything for dress up!

  8. I had my first sensory box with my toddler just recently and she loved it. I may have to give yours a try. I didn’t realize all the benefits that come along with these sensory boxes. Love them now!

  21. *sigh* Mardi Gras is ONE of the things I miss most about living in Louisiana. It really does include everyone of all ages and everywhere in the state. These are such great ideas to include young ones in the Mardi Gras celebrations 🙂

  30. I thought Mardi Gras was all about semi-naked people dancing around provocatively in the streets where there was lots of alcohol involved.
    At least that’s what I’ve seen, or is it something different in the US?

    • Mardi Gras in New Orleans is a family friendly affair! It’s pretty PG rated and the kids have a great time!
