You never know what the weather is going to do in Pensacola. Summers are HOT and rainy and winters are cold and well sometimes rainy too and sometimes you just need to have some fun indoors. Or if you are here on vacation visiting you may just need a break from the beach and sun. Either way you're in luck because Pensacola is home to some fun and entertaining  indoor attractions. Enjoy!

Barnes and Noble

Barnes and Noble offers themed storytimes on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 11am plus additional storytimes and special kid events throughout the month. Check the calendar for more information. FREE

Bounce House Pensacola

Bounce House Pensacola is a family entertainment center with bounce houses, inflatable slides, a creative area, sports games, video games and a toddler area.

It is located at 6241-D N. Davis Hwy, and is open Monday – Thursday from 10am-6pm, Friday and Saturday from 10am-7pm and Sunday from 11am-5pm. Admission costs are infants – FREE| Crawlers – $4.95 | Ages 1-3 – $9.95 | Ages 4-12 – $11.95 | Ages 13-17 – $9.95 — must be accompanying a younger sibling | guardians – FREE — two adults for every child additional adults are $3.95.

Bowling

Pensacola is home to two great bowling alleys. You can take the kids bowling at either Cordova Lanes or DeLuna Lanes.

Escape on Palafox

Solve the puzzles, crack the codes and find the clues to see if you can escape in 60 minutes or less from one of the escape rooms at Escape on Palafox. This is a great activity to do with tweens and teens. Located at 28 Palafox Place, the cost is $24 per person. Children 14 and under must be accompanied by an adult, children 5 and under are only allowed if you rent the entire room (all 8 sections) and children 2 and under are not allowed under any circumstances.

First City Art Center

First City Art offers art and yoga classes for children. You can also visit the artist gallery from 10 am – 4 pm on Monday – Friday. Gallery tours are FREE. Located at 1060 N. Guillemard St., Pensacola, Florida; (850) 429-1222.

Glow Golf 

Located inside Cordova Mall, Glow Golf has glow in the dark mini golf and a laser maze. Glow Golf is open Monday – Friday from 3-9pm, Saturday from 10am-9pm and Sunday from NOON-6pm when school is in session. And when school is out the hours are Monday-Saturday from 10am-9pm and Sunday from NOON-pm.

Cost for all 54 holes is $9 for adults | $7 for children 5-12 | $4 for ages 4 and under. The laser maze is $3 for 1 game | $5 for 2 games | $10 for 5 games.

MUSEUM OF COMMERCE

Located at 201 E. Zaragoza St the museum is housed inside a turn of the century warehouse. Visitors can explore a 1890’s era streetscape with stores, a print shop, a collection of horse drawn buggies and an antique trolley car. The museum is open on Tuesday-Saturday from 10am-4pm.

MUSEUM OF INDUSTRY

Step back in time and learn about Pensacola’s pivotal industries such as railroad, lumbering, brick making and fishing. Located at 200 E. Zaragoza St, the museum is open Tuesday-Saturday from 10am-4pm.

National Navy Aviation Museum

Learn about Naval Aviation through the years at the National Navy Aviation Museum. The museum is located on the Pensacola Naval Air Station. In addition to hands on exhibits that allow children to explore the planes and history of our country, the museum has a  indoor playground, an IMAX theater, simulators and more.

Admission to the museum is FREE however IMAX, simulators and other experiences cost extra. The museum is open daily from  9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Also on select Tuesdays and Wednesdays from March – November you can watch the Blue Angels practice and on Wednesdays get their autographs at the museum.

Pensacola Children’s Museum

A historical museum geared to children celebrating 450 of Pensacola history with two floors of hands on learning. Located at 115 East Zaragoza Street, Pensacola, FL 32502. The children’s museum is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10am – 4pm and on Sunday from noon – 4pm.

Pensacola Kids Place

Pensacola Kids Place is Pensacola’s indoor playground for kids ages infant to 8 offering play tunnels, slides, a ball pit, educational toys and activities, an infant play area and more.

They are open Monday – Wednesday from 9am-5pm, Thursday and Friday from 9am-7pm, Saturday from 10am-8pm (Saturdays are reserved for birthday parties, open play is only available if there is no party scheduled), Sunday from NOON-3pm. Cost is $10 + tax for ages 1-8 | $6 + tax for under 1 | $5 on Sundays. Socks are required for play and can be purchased for $2. They are located at 875 E. Nine Mile Rd. Suite 6.

Pensacola Mess Hall

Located in Downtown Pensacola at 116 N. Tarragona St. Pensacola MESS Hall allows children to learn science hands on by experimenting and engaging through tinkering. Admission is $8 per person and is open from 1-5pm on Tuesday – Friday and 10am – 5pm on Saturday during the school year.

Pensacola Museum of Art

Pensacola Museum of Art is located in Downtown Pensacola at 407 South Jefferson Street, Pensacola, FL 32502. Art exhibits showcase artist from around the world and local artists. The art museum also offers art classes and summer camps for children and adults.

The Pensacola Museum of Art is opened Tuesday and Wednesday from 10am – 5pm, Thursday and Saturday from 1oam – 7pm and Sunday from NOON to 4pm. Admission is $7 for adults | $4 children ages 3-14 | $6 ages 65 and older, active duty military and their dependents, AAA members, Pensacola Museum of Art members, UWF Historic Trust Members and UWF Alumni Association Members | FREE  for EBT card holders and UWF students with Nautilus card.

Santa Rosa County Library

The library has various storytimes throughout the week at different library locations in Milton, Jay, Gulf Breeze and Navarre. Check the library calendar for more information. FREE

Skyzone

Jump your heart out at Skyzone, Pensacola’s indoor trampoline park located at 5007 N. Davis Hwy. Hours are 10am – 7pm.

Story Spouts

Story Sprouts is a reschool storytime at Ever’Man Cooperative Grocery and Cafe located at 315 West Garden Street. Children listen to stories, sing songs, try healthy snacks, make a craft and sometimes play in the garden. From 10am-NOON on Tuesdays, space is limited so call (850) 438-0402 to reserve your spot. Theater

Experience the magic of live theater at the Pensacola Little Theater or the Saenger Theater in Downtown Pensacola. During the summer the Saenger also has a kids movies and classic movies series.

TT WENTWORTH MUSEUM

This is the Pensacola Historic Villages flagship museum. Here you can view permanent exhibits such as the City of Five Flags, where visitors can experience life in Pensacola under all five flags, and Trader Johns. The museum is located at 33o Jefferson St. and is open Tuesday – Saturday from 10am-4pm and Sunday from NOON-4pm.

Waterboyz Skate Park

Waterboyz Skate Park is a 5000 Sq Ft air-conditioned skate park located inside Waterboyz Surf and Skate headquarters at 380 N. 9th Ave. Call (850) 433-2929 for hours and prices.

West Florida Public Library

The library offers various storytimes throughout the week at different library locations around Pensacola. Check the library calendar for more information. FREE

West Florida Railroad Museum

Learn the history of the railroad in West Florida at the West Florida Railroad Museum. The museum is located at 5003 Henry St., Milton and is opened Friday and Saturday from 10am – 3pm or by appt. The museum is also available for birthday parties and private functions. FREE

WSRE Imagination Station

The WSRW Imagination Station is FREE and offers hands on learning with a strong focus on early literacy and use of digital media using educational resources from WSRE and PBS Kids, featuring your child’s favorite PBS Kids characters. Located at Blue Wahoos Stadium, Imagination Station is open Monday – Saturday from 9am – NOON

VOICES OF PENSACOLA

This multicultural center highlights the diversity and cultures that have shaped Pensacola. Located at 117 E. Government St, the museum is open Tuesday – Friday from 10am – 4pm.
