New Orleans is officially under a hurricane warning this afternoon thanks to Hurricane Nate. Weekend events are being canceled and places closed because of the storm. Here is a list of Hurricane Nate Cancelations and Closures In New Orleans.
The City of New Orleans will be under a curfew starting at 7 pm Saturday evening.
Grand Isle will be under a curfew starting at 3 pm Saturday afternoon.
Busses and Street Cars
RTA will stop running busses and street cars when the sustained winds reach 35mph
All bus service in Jefferson Parish will be suspended at 7 pm on Saturday evening.
Jefferson Parish has issued a mandatory evacuation for Grand Isle, Jean Lafitte, Barataria and Crown Point and other areas outside the levee protection system.
Orleans Parish has issued a mandatory evacuation for Venetian Isles, Lake Catherine and Irish Bayou. They will be closing the flood gates at noon so you must be out by that time.
Plaquemines Parish has issued a mandatory evacuation for the entire Eastbank of the parish, all areas outside the levee protection system and the Westbank of the parish for those living south of the Alliance Refinery. A shelter will be opening at Belle Chasse Auditorium.
St. Bernard has issued a mandatory evacuation for residents that live outside the levee protection system.
St. John Parish has issued a voluntary evacuation for ares north of I-55 in Laplace specifically Frenier, Peavine and Manchac. Also there is a voPleasure Bend and areas north of Airline Highway “that are prone to flooding and homes and businesses that flooded in Hurricane Isaac.”
Lafourche Parish has issued a voluntary evacuation for Port Fourchon.
The NOPD will be blocking off underpasses that are prone to flooding starting at 6pm in Orleans Parish.

New Orleans Public Library – All branches closed through the weekend
NOMA – Closed Saturday, including the Sculpture Garden
NORD – All parks, playgrounds and facilities will close Saturday and be closed until further notice
October Fest – Closed Saturday
Ogden Museum of Southern Art – Closed Saturday
St. Aug Game – Moved to 11 am Saturday
The Contemporary Arts Center – Closed Saturday and Sunday
Tulane Game – Moved to 11 am Saturday
Xavier University – Closed Saturday and Sunday. All campus events except for the women’s volleyball game Saturday at 10 am are canceled.

Jefferson Parish Libraries – Regional Branches will be closed on Sunday.

Kenner Recreation – All outdoor facilities, recreation and rentals are closed/canceled for Saturday and Sunday
