It’s almost Halloween. The fun is just starting and ramps up in just about two weeks and every weekend leading up to the big day is FULL of Halloween fun. Now’s the time to make your plans and get your tickets to these 11 Must Do Halloween Activities for New Orleans Kids

Spooky Tours

Kid friendly ghost tours available all season long. Kids can tour the French Quarter, learn New Orleans History and hear some ghost stories about the city’s past inhabitants. Cost is $17 for adults and $20 per child 4-18 and you can book your tour on the French Quartour Kids Website.

Jefferson Parish Library

The Jefferson Parish Library has a ton of Halloween events planned for kids all month long including storytimes, crafts, movies, parties and more.

Kid Zone at Scout Island Scream Park

Daily starting October 6th through the 31st from 11am – 6pm. Scout Island Scream Park turns into kid friendly fun daily. Cost is $15 per person and includes face painting, hay bale maze, pumpkin patch, bounce house and a hay ride.

On days Scout Island Scream Park is open, the area will be ‘scare light’ as Scout Island Scream Park is setting up (kids may see actors dressed in costumes or hear attractions rehearsals). On the days Scout Island Scream Park is not open, nothing scary will occur.

Boo Carre

Kid-centric Halloween Fun in the French Market District on Saturday, October 20st from 10am – 6pm. Trick or treating, crafts booths and more. More information

Krewe of Boo

Saturday, October 20 from 6:30 to 9 pm the parade begins at Elysian Fields and ends in the Warehouse District.  This is a fun parade for the entire family to get ready for Halloween. Parade Route

Park a Boo

October 26th from 5-7:45pm, October 27th from 1-7:45pm, and October 28th from 1-4:45pm at Lafreniere Park. Children 12 and under can dress in costume and play games, trick or treat, listen to a story, get their face painted and more. Cost is $8 for adults, $6 for children ages 2-12 and FREE for children ages 2 and under.

Boo At the Zoo

The Audubon Zoo’s annual Halloween event will be held on October 26th and 27th from 5-9 pm and October 28th from 4-8pm. Children to age 12 will enjoy activities, games, trick or treating and more. Admission is $20 per person and can be purchased on Audubon’s website. 

Boo Fest

Take a trip across the lake to Lakeview Regional Medical Center in Covington on Saturday, October 27th for Boo Fest from 10am – 3 pm. Trick or treating, photo booth, costume contest, pumpkin decorating and more. Gates open at 9am for special needs families and 10 am to the general public. Admission is $2 and all proceeds benefit children with disabilities and their families. More information 

Bayou Segnette State Park Halloween Festival

Families can trick or treat in the campground, go on the haunted swamp trail and have fun at Bayou Segnette State Park on October 27th from 5-9pm. Admission to enter the park is $3 per person.

Boo at the View

Trick or treat at Clearview Mall in Metairie from 2-6 pm on Halloween Night. Enjoy mall wide trick or treating, face painting, a haunted house and more.

Gretna Goblin Night

October 31st from 6-8pm. Children ages 10 and under can enjoy a safe Halloween with games, music, fun, candy and more at the Riverfront Amphitheatre in Gretna.
