Sadly due to COVID 19, Audubon Zoo Lights has been canceled for 2020. Hopefully, it will be back in 2021 and we can visit the fun and colorful lights at Audubon Zoo again.
Last year, I took the family to Audubon Zoo Lights, the new Christmas Attraction at Audubon Zoo in New Orleans. It runs on several dates thru the end of December. It is definitely worth packing the family up to make this trip. Here are some tips to make your visit fun and enjoyable.
Where is Zoo Lights Located?
Zoo Lights are located at the Audubon Zoo, which is located at 6500 Magazine Street, New Orleans, Louisiana 70118
How do I buy Tickets For Zoo Lights?
I recommend purchasing your tickets online before you get to the Audubon Zoo. This saves you money and time waiting at the ticket booth when you get there.
How Much does Zoo Lights at Audubon Zoo cost?
Tickets for Audubon Members are $10 in advance online and $13 at the gate.
For non-members tickets are $15 in advance online and $18 at the gate.
Children 2 and under are free.
When is Audubon Zoo Lights Open?
There are no dates available for 2020
Where do I Park When I Go to Zoo Lights at the Audubon Zoo?
The only con to this whole trip was the amount of time that it took us to park.
We got to the zoo at 6:15 p.m., and it took us 45 minutes to park. The four-year-old in our group did not take too kindly to the parking situation.
I talked to other families that went at other times and your best times to go are 5:15 pm right before it opens or after 7 pm.
Can I get pictures with Santa at Audubon Zoo Lights?
Yes you can!
Santa is located in Polar Pics. It is at the beginning of the zoo where the frogs are usually housed.
It was pretty crowded when we first got there. I would recommend doing it on your way out as the lines had gone done by then.
What other Picture Opportunities ar there at Zoo Lights?
There are lots of Selfie Stations throughout the park to take some adorable pics. They are marked with a sign!
The kids enjoyed being a snowman and gingerbread man.
What Other Do Things I Need To Know About Audubon Zoo Lights ?
The lights are centrally located where they do several events at the zoo. You will not see any animals. You may want to let your littles know in advance.
The playground and carousel are open, so depending on what you would like to do with your family, you can either avoid or partake in those areas. Gift shops are open. There are two food areas and a coffee truck selling hot cocoa.
I really do feel that this is a new must-do on the Christmas checklist. The lights are worth seeing for sure. Just make sure to plan out your trip to make it the most enjoyable for everyone in your party.
