Wednesdays in April from 5pm-8pm at Lafayette Square Park, S Maestri St., NOLA. Bring your dancing shoes or set up camp at this FREE concert series. This month features Flow Tribe, Wayne Toups and Big Sam’s Funky Nation.
Thursdays in April from 6:30pm-8:30pm, 3000 Downs Blvd., Metairie. Dance your way to the Al Copeland Meadow Concert Stage in Lafreniere Park for FREE live music featuring upcoming performances by Dr. Rock and The Phunky Monkeys. Plum Street Snoballs, Central PoBoys, and Cypress Catering will also be there serving up items for purchase.
Sundays in April from 5pm-6:30pm at the Newman bandstand in Audubon Park.Bring your lawn chairs to listen to FREE live entertainment in Celebration of the Audubon Park Conservancy.*
Thursday, April 12th – Sunday, April 15th, daily from about 10am- the end of the last performances starting at 7pm at Jackson Square, NOLA. With over 20 stages, hundreds of performers and more food and fun than you can fathom, you can’t miss this festival. Celebrate 35 years of the Largest showcase of Louisiana music in the world for FREE!
Thursday, April 20th – Sunday, April 22nd at the 400 block of Williams Blvd. in Kenner. Festa Italiana honors the influence of Italian Heritage that has influenced New Orleans culture. Popular local bands will entertain while you play games, peruse the crafts, eat, drink and enjoy the family fun. $5 adult admission, all law enforcement as well as kids 12 & under are FREE.
Friday, April 20th – Sunday, April 22nd from 9am-til daily at the New Orleans Healing Center, 2372 St. Claude Ave., NOLA. Gather for interactive readings, discussions and speakers including poet laureates. Discover inspiration, collaborate, and build friendships through diversity. Enjoy open mic night and dance to the vibes of the poets with bands at the Maple Leaf Bar.
Sunday, April 22nd from 12pm-8pm at the Deanie’s Seafood in Bucktown, 1713 Lake Ave., Metairie. Get your face painted and bring your appetite. Enter the crawfish eating contest for kids and adults, saving some for a crawfish race. Expect entertainment from Cowboy Mouth, Vince Vance & the Valiants, The Bucktown All Stars, The Tops Cats, Roux the Day and the 610 Stompers all for FREE!
Sunday, April 21st from 10am-7pm at Tulane University Uptown Campus at the LBC Berger Family and Newcomb Quads. Over 20,000 pounds of crawfish and fixins and other local food vendors for you to enjoy. Live music and art vendors add to the fun. FREE for kids 12 and under, as well as all Tulane students with a Splash Card.
Friday, April 27th – Sunday April 29th from 11am-7pm daily at The Fair Grounds Race Course, 1751 Gentilly Blvd., NOLA. As one of the most anticipated festivals of the year, jazz up your weekend with entertainment and sounds from musicians of every genre associated with New Orleans. Check out local food, art vendors and crafts. You have to purchase tickets to this awesome NOLA tradition, but don’t worry, the FUN is free.
Monday, April 30th – Wednesday, May 2nd from 3pm-10pm daily at Central City BBQ, 1201 S. Rampart St., NOLA. Throw in some old friends, new friends, fantastic local musicians, local beers, a boat load of crawfish and all the fixins…you’ve got yourself a great time. Go get into the mix!
