It’s summer and most of us are hanging on just counting the weeks until school starts. We all could use a little humor to get us through the next 8 weeks or so until then. Right? Here are 10 ways you know it’s summer when you are a parent.

It’s So Humid
You can barely breathe once you step outside, the heat and humidity completely cover you in a blanket of sweat and nastiness. Your kids hair is always matted down to their heads and everyone looks a hot mess.
You hear “Mom!” one hundred more times than usual because your kids are home from school. You contemplate changing your name.
You break out all of your awesome summer projects for the kids to do but you know deep down inside, it’ll last about ½ a day. You begin to have a much deeper appreciation for your kids teachers.
You start contacting moms near you to plan playdates so you can suffer together. You start with moms who own pools.
Did someone say wine?
You create a “start of school countdown” cocktail. If that isn’t a thing, someone please jump on that.
You’ve googled free and cheap things to do around your area with the kids. If you haven’t already, click here for an amazing list.
Shoes Are Optional
You foot attire consists of either flip flops or sandals, since there is NO WAY you are subjecting your feet to closed toed shoes. Sweaty feet, ewh!
YouTube = Babysitter
Ryan’s toy review has become a qusi-babysitter for you. You just need a few hours of peace and quiet… RYAN TO THE RESCUE!
You have multiple bottles of sunscreen and bug repellent, because DUH, we live in the South.
Hugs and Kisses
Because although your kids are with you all day, every day— that means more cuddles, more hugs, and more kisses
