DIY Art Attack: Rainbow Shamrock Beaded Keychain
Monday, March 5th, from 3pm-9pm (or until supplies run out) at the East Bank Regional Library, 4747 W. Napoleon Ave. in Metairie. Come pick up supplies in the Teen Center for creative, fun, keychain art.
Wednesday, March 7th from 6:30pm-7:30pm at the East Bank Regional Library’s Children’s Activity Room. 4747 W. Napoleon Ave. in Metairie. Children ages 5-10 can create and experiment with the legos provided at Lego Club. Younger siblings are welcome and will be provided with larger blocks.
Movies in the Park: Zootopia
Friday, March 9th from 6:15pm-9pm at Sam Bonapart Playground in New Orleans. Bring blankets, chairs, and a picnic to view this outdoor screening of Zootopia. You can even arrive early to get into some fitness fun with Fit NOLA at NORD.
Saturday, March 10th from 10:30am-11am at the Newcomb Art Museum, Woldenberg Art Center. Take a stroller friendly, private tour guided by Tom Friel including engagement and interpretation the second Saturday of every month.
Free Family Day: A Tricentennial Celebration
Saturday, March 10th from 10am-2pm at the Ogden Museum of Southern Art, 925 Camp St., NOLA. Celebrate New Orleans’ Tricentennial Year with FREE admission to The Ogden Museum. Saturday, March 10th from 11am-5pm at Ecole Bilingue de la Nouvelle-Orléans, 812 General Pershing St., NOLA. Le Cirque is in town with games, prizes, activities and more! Celebrate French influences in New Orleans with food, wine, art, music, and culture.
Saturday, March 10th from 11:30am-1pm at the Newcomb Art Museum. Create age appropriate individual works of art with clay for caregivers and children. The experience includes skill building, problem solving, and exploratory art methods.
48th Annual St. Joseph’s Day Parade
Saturday, March 10th at 6pm in the French Quarter. Come sing, dance, and even get kissed by an Italian! Enjoy enjoy the beautifully adorned floats and sounds of the greats, Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, and Louis Prima. Be sure to get your blessed fava bean at this Italian-American Parade.
Sunday, March 11th from 10:45am-12:30pm at Confetti Park in Algiers Point. Bring a dish and some beads for a neighborhood potluck, then parade down to Friendship Day along the levee with your decorated bikes and strollers in the Krewe of Confetti Kids. Enjoy the festivities including live music, cabbage, and fun til 5pm.
St. Patrick’s Day Parade
Sunday, March 11th at Noon on Metairie Rd. Everyone is Irish when it comes to the St. Patrick’s Day Parade, get your green on, pucker up for a smooch and a rose from one of the many Irish dancing their way between the floats.
