Free Things To Do In New Orleans This Week

It’s Officially here MARDI GRAS!!! You all know what to do on the big day!!!  Arms up, block your face, watch your drink, “Hey, throw me something mister!”, but kids are out of school all week in some parishes. So, here are some other FUN and FREE things to do in New Orleans this week (Feb.12th-Feb.18th).

Lundi Gras- Kenner Rivertown

Monday, Feb.12th, from 10am-3pm at 2020 4th St. in Kenner. Join the King and Queen of Zulu, and the King and Queen of Argus in a toast to good fortune topped off with food, fun, crafts, and activities. “Mojeaux” will also perform at Kenner’s Lundi Gras celebration along with a second line at the end of Williams Blvd. near the Mississippi River.

Mardi Gras Mask Market at the French Market

Monday, Feb.12th from 10am-4pm, Mardi Gras Mambo your way over to Dutch Alley and peruse the beautiful, handmade designs the Mardi Gras Mask Market has to offer. If the spirit moves you, buy one or two.

Mardi Gras LED Takeover

Monday, Feb.12th at 8pm, 700 Decatur St., NOLA. See Cosmic Kitten Flow Art’s performance when they takeover Jackson Square. Join in, make friends, spread love.

RGB Tuesday

Tuesday, Feb.13th from 2pm-9pm at 1522 St.Bernard Ave., NOLA. “Powercircle” presents RGB Tuesday, a celebration of black culture, community, economics, youth development, and history. Honor each other at Circle Food Store with performances, keynote speakers, food, exhibitors, a spacewalk, and much more!

Children’s Valentine’s Party

Wednesday, Feb.14th from 6pm-7pm, 626 5th St. in Norco, all children are welcome to celebrate with food and fun at this First Baptist Church event.

Board Game Night

Thursday, Feb.15th beginning between 5pm & 6pm at 4201 Veterans Blvd., Suite A3 in Metairie. Show up to this +1 Gaming Event with or without a game to make new friends and have a good time.

Stop and Shop Arts and Crafts Show

Saturday, Feb.17th from 10am-6pm at 4436 Veterans Blvd. in Clearview Mall. Check out local artists, vendors, and crafters at this show.

Pawdi Gras

Sunday, Feb.18th, 12pm is registration and costume contest, parade starts at 1pm. Hwy.23 in Belle Chasse at the Regions Bank see the pups strut their stuff along with celebrity Grand Marshall Angela Hill! Registration and donations go to www.pawsforlife.org
