Looking for FREE family fun in New Orleans? I’ve got you covered. It is a difficult challenge to follow a week with Mardi Gras and Valentine’s Day, but this week’s events are awesome! Everything is so exciting, from Chinese New Year Celebrations, a Superhero Race, Dancing for teens on the Spectrum, to BMX contests and more! Love Your Pet Day
Tuesday, Feb.20th from 2pm-5pm at inspired Living at Kenner, 3801 Loyola Ave. Enjoy family fun with your fur babies at this off-leash dog park. In partnership with the SPCA there will also be adoptable pets looking for their forever home.
Kids Club with Home Depot
Thursday, Feb.22nd from 6pm-7:30pm at Chick-fil-A in Harvey, 128 Manhattan Blvd. Home Depot will host Kids Club.
Friday, Feb.23rd at 11am in Champion’s Square, enjoy live entertainment and fun with a Book Drive for Friends of New Orleans Public Library. Bring your books, yourself, and your appetite. With 10 food trucks, you will for sure find delicious food to purchase.
Friday, Feb.23rd from 5pm-8pm at St. Rita’s School in he Cafeteria, 194 Ravan Ave., Metairie. Bring a blanket or chairs to watch the Emoji Movie FREE starting at 6:30pm. Fried fish, grilled fish, and pizza will be for sale.
Superhero Race 2018
Saturday, Feb.24th from 8am-11am at the Lafitte Greenway in NOLA. The Superhero Race benefits CASA of New Orleans fighting for the rights of neglected or abused children. Although registration costs a little dough, it couldn’t be for a better cause. The after parties are FREE with kids activities hosted by Discovery FEST Enrichment Programs and the adult party and libations sponsored by Bayou Beer Garden.
Drop In BMX & Skate Shop BMX & Skate Contest!
Saturday, Feb.24th from 1pm-4pm at Wentwood Skate Park on Loyola Dr. in Kenner. Come out for bmx and skate contests for all ages and skill levels.
Book Launch Party, Madamoiselle Grands Doights, Octavia Books
Saturday, Feb.24th from 2pm-4pm at 513 Octavia street in NOLA. Join multi award winner and musician Johnette Downing and Illustrator, Heather Stanley, who used to work for the Audubon Nature Institute, for the reading and launch party and reading of their new book, craft time, snacks, and coloring pages. You can also order a pre-signed copy from Octavia Books.
